1. INTRODUCTION
These Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy ("Agreement") govern your use of this screen time reduction application (the "Stopify"). By downloading, installing, or using the Application, you agree to be bound by this Agreement. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Application.
2. DATA COLLECTION AND LOCAL PROCESSING
The Application is designed with a privacy-first architecture.
a. Personal Information
The Application requests your display name solely for the purpose of personalized in-app greetings. We do not collect, request, or store your email address, phone number, physical address, or any other personally identifiable information (PII).
b. Local Storage
All data generated by the Application, including your daily activity, usage statistics, and dashboard metrics, are stored strictly locally on your device. The Application does not transmit, upload, or share this data with our servers or any third-party servers.
3. REQUIRED PERMISSIONS AND API USAGE
To function as intended, the Application requires specific device permissions. We strictly adhere to Google Play Developer Policies regarding the use of these permissions:
a. UsageStats API
The Application requires the "Usage Access" permission to retrieve data regarding the time you spend on various applications. This data is used exclusively on your device to calculate your screen time and populate your activity dashboard. It is never transmitted off your device.
b. Unrestricted Battery Usage
To accurately monitor screen time continuously in the background, the Application requires exemption from battery optimization.
c. Notifications
The Application requires notification permissions to alert you when you are approaching or have reached your screen time limits.
d. Display Over Other Apps (Overlay)
The Application requires the "System Alert Window" permission to display a blocking interface or warning overlay on top of other applications. This is a mechanical necessity to enforce your self-imposed screen time limits. This permission is not used to monitor or collect data from other apps.
e. Accessibility Services
Stopify uses Android Accessibility Service only when the user enables the optional Short-Form Content Blocking feature. The service is used exclusively to identify short-form content interfaces (such as Reels, Shorts, and similar feeds) inside supported applications so that the app can block distracting content according to the user's settings. Accessibility data is processed entirely on the user's device. Stopify does not collect, store, transmit, or share accessibility events or personal information obtained through Accessibility Services.
4. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES AND ADVERTISEMENTS
While the Application's core functionality operates entirely offline, the Application incorporates third-party advertising networks to support development.
a. Internet Connection
The Application requires an active internet connection solely for the purpose of fetching and displaying advertisements.
b. Ad Network Data Collection
These third-party ad networks may collect and use non-personal data, such as your device's Advertising ID and IP address, to serve relevant ads. This data collection is governed by the respective privacy policies of the ad networks utilized within the Application.
5. USER RESPONSIBILITIES
You are responsible for configuring the Application's settings, including screen time limits and app restrictions, according to your personal preferences. The developer assumes no responsibility for any missed alarms, messages, or notifications resulting from the Application's overlay blocking access to other applications.

7. DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the developer disclaims all warranties, express or implied.
8. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
In no event shall the developer be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of or in connection with your use of the Application, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of productivity, or device malfunctions.
9. CHANGES TO THIS AGREEMENT
We reserve the right to modify this Agreement at any time. Any changes will be reflected within the Application. Continued use of the Application following any modifications constitutes your acceptance of the revised Agreement.
